Corporate Insight Launches Health System Monitor

This month, Corporate Insight launches Health System Monitor, which tracks the digital web patient experiences offered by a leading group of health systems and hospitals. Covering 21 health systems and hospitals across the United States, Corporate Insight just published an inaugural report on patient portals and their associated public site platforms for clients.

Landscaping the coverage set, we highlight some findings on the patient portals:

  • MyChart is the most common platform, used by 15 (71%) of the coverage set health systems
  • The remaining six systems offer platforms by other major EHR models (such as Cerner Corporation and Allscripts Healthcare Solutions) or offer platforms that are not easily identified due to hospital branding
  • MyChart is not a uniform experience across health systems with some platforms more robust than others

When exploring the public site content offered by the 21 health systems and hospitals, every organization focuses on the medical services and specialties it treats. The sites also feature 11 primary commonalities, including:

  • Locator tools for provider or facility
  • Functionality for making or requesting an appointment
  • Health information on treated services, procedures and specialties
